Way back when Origin IT first started about 2000, the IT service market for SMBs in Auckland was very, very different. The way that Origin (and its competitors) dealt with its clients I.T. problems and challenges was reactive. They waited until their clients’ I.T. network broke-down, and then kicked into action after that break-down.

Origin IT would then fix things while their clients waited around, unable to work normally (or at all!). What started off as a reasonably inexpensive month became expensive. Or very expensive. Or – in some cases – a blow-out. The company accountants hated the roller-coaster ride of fluctuating I.T. costs, but accepted it as ‘the way’.

It just wasn’t good enough. Clients were frustrated, losing precious time and money during break-downs. Their Accounts Departments hated the unpredictable monthly bills…light on a quiet month, a potentially large one the next.

Mike, Alishia and Karl decided to do something about it. They went away one weekend, to put their heads together and work out a better way. Over a drink or two, they had a ‘Eureka’ moment and – presto – ONEFEE was born. The managed services market in Auckland would never be the same again.
